Sahastrakund Waterfall at Nanded is an amazing spot with a mix of adventure and beauty. The waterfall tumbles down from a height of 50 ft and has greenery all around it which provides anenthralling view.

History
Sahastrakund waterfall on the Penganga River in Murli village is an extraordinary sight. Murli village is located in the Nanded District of Maharashtra State, India. The waterfalls are perennial i.e. they are available all around the year, as they received water from the Penganga river. The Rock Pattern is equally interesting. The passage of the river has bedrocks, and while flowing water has created several ponds within this rocky bed. Hence it is called Sahastrakunda (thousand ponds/tanks). The black rock has got lustre with the erosion and polishing by running waterowing to whichit resembles with metal.
Geography
This town is situated on the boundary of the Yavatmal and Nanded districts on the Penganga River. Sahasrakund is at a distance of 159 KM to the south of Yavatmal and 108 KM to the northeast of Nanded. The rock pattern in the surroundings of the falls is also interesting, as the black rock appears like a metal. The water force is high during monsoons and it is not advised to get into the water.
Weather/Climate
The region has a hot and dry climate. The summers are more extreme than winters and monsoon, with a temperature up to 40.5 degrees Celsius.
Winters are mild, and the average temperature varies from 28-30 degrees Celsius.
Monsoon season has extreme seasonal variations, and the annual rainfall in Aurangabad is around 726 mm.
Things to do
The place is open for tourists throughout the year but the best time to see would be monsoon as this is when one can see its gushing water splashing on one of its kind black stones that are hard to find anywhere in Maharashtra. For the best view of the waterfall, one can climb on the long ramp on the either side of the waterfall. The watchtower here gives a breath-taking birds eye view of the surroundings including the waterfall.

Isapur dam: (2hr 45 min) (90 KM): It is one of the popular places in Nanded, Isapur Dam has been constructed on Penganga River near Pusad, Nanded district of Maharashtra, is one of the best tourist places in Nanded. This earth-filled dam has an elevation of 57m is one of the popular tourist attractions and unique places in this part of the world.
Mahurgad, Nanded: (3 hrs) (91 KM): Mahurgad, also known as Mahur, is a city close to Nanded, which is quite prominent for its temples. Over here, one can find three mountains, each facilitated with a temple. The first one, and perhaps the most prominent one features the temple of Renuka Devi, who is the mother of the god Parshuram. Other two are called Datt Shikhar and Atri Anasuya Shikar. There are many other temples in Mahur like Jamdagni Temple, Parshuram Temple, Kalika temple, Devdeveshwar Temple, and also the Caves called Pandav Leni.
Hazur sahib: (2hr 23 min) (103 KM):
Nanded is popular as a Sikh pilgrimage destination because of Shri Hazur Sahib, housing one of the five Takhts known to be of supreme importance in Sikhism. It is the same place where Guru Govind Singh, the tenth Guru of Sikhs breathed his last.
Nanded (2 hr 37 min) (108 KM):
Nanded is the second largest city in the Marathwada region of Maharashtra. Situated on the banks of the Godavari River. Nanded is a major destination for Sikh pilgrims, because the 10th Sikh Guru (Guru Gobind Singh) made Nanded his permanent residence and passed his Guruship to the Guru Granth Sahib before his death in 1708. Nanded is considered as base point to visit Aundha Nagnath and Parli Baidyanath,

Visiting Rule and Time, Best month to visit
The place is accessible throughout the year but the ideal time to visit the waterfall is during the monsoon (August to October). The breathtaking views of the waterfall attract many visitors during peak rains.
The rocks are sharp and slippery, and tourists are not allowed to get into the water during monsoon season.
