Alibaug is in Raigad district in the Konkan region of Maharashtra. The place is famous for its clean and sandy beaches. Alibaug has a Magnetic observatory that was set up in 1904, which is now run by the Indian Institute of Geomagnetism.
Alibaug falls in the Konkan region of Maharashtra in between the Sahyadri mountains and the Arabian sea. It is surrounded by the Arabian sea on three sides. It is approx. 97 KM from Mumbai and 167 KM away from Pune.

Visiting Rule and Time, Best month to visit
The place is accessible throughout the year but the best time
to visit is, from October to March. The sea is very rough during monsoon and gets very risky with its unpredictable behaviour.
Tourists are advised to check the timings of high as well as
low tides before entering the sea. High tides during the monsoon season could be dangerous hence these occasions shall be avoided.
