Tipeshwar Wild Life Sanctuary
The Tipeshwar wildlife sanctuary is in the Yavatmal area that is an isolated national park in Maharashtra. The sanctuary is managed by the Forest Conservator of Pench National Park under the guidance of the Chief Conservator of Forests Nagpur.
Many villages are positioned amidst the sanctuary area and local people are depending on the forest for their daily needs.

The sanctuary is at Pandharkawada Tehsil, in the district of Yavatmal, Maharashtra.
History
The sanctuary is named Tipeshwar after the temple of Goddess Tipai located in this forest. There are three villages in the sanctuary area namely Tipeshwar, Maregaon and Pitapungari. Many rivers like Purna, Krishna, Bhima and Tapti irrigate the sanctuary from all angles. Due to the abundance of water from all these rivers, it is popularly known as the Green Oasis of Southern Maharashtra.
Tipeshwar is fast emerging as a prime tiger conservation and tiger tourism haven despite the disadvantage of being much smaller in area. The comparatively higher incidences of tiger sightings in the sanctuary have made the place popular among wildlife enthusiasts from Hyderabad and other places in Telangana. The forest is striking, and it has potential for tiger detection. Tipeshwar Wildlife Sanctuary is home to 6 scarce reptile species. Over 182 bird species belonging to 46 bird folks are found in this area.
The locale witnesses 85 species of scarce birds, comprising the peafowl. The park home includes 25 species of mammals, 125 species of birds, 22 species of amphibians and reptiles. Bengal Tigers, leopard cats, sloth bears, Indian leopards, Indian bison, and Indian gigantic squirrels are among animal species that live in this sanctuary. Tipeshwar wildlife sanctuary is home to about 20 tigers of different ages and sizes.
Geography
The sanctuary covers an area of around 148.63 sq. KM and abounds in vegetation cover. The place is quite hilly and undulated, and thus various types of vegetation cover with the altitude. It is surrounded by Amravati and Wardha district to the north. Chandrapur district to the East. Andhra Pradesh State and Nanded district to the south and Parbhani and Akola district.
Weather/Climate
The temperature of the area is very pleasant throughout the year. It is a dry deciduous forest which has maximum temperature of 4°C and the minimum temperature is 7 ° C. The average temperature is 28°C. Its rainfall averages 1000 min. There are about 100 days of rain.

Tipeshwar wildlife sanctuaryoffers breathtaking Outdoor Adventure Activities like Animal Safari, Jeep Safari etc., Booking can be done online or you can take the help of a local tour guide for safari travel booking to the wildlife sanctuary. Local taxis are available to visit the forest or one can visit by driving own vehicle along with local guides.
There are 3 gates Sunna, Mathani and Kodori. Sunna is 7KM from Pandhrarkawada and Mathani is 23 KM from pandharkawada. Kodori gate is 2 KM from Maharashtra and Telangana border check post.

This sanctuary is enclosed by numerous other widespread wildlife reserves such as Nagzira National Forest, Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve, Bhamragarh Wildlife Reserve, Chaprala Wildlife Sanctuary, Navegaon National Park, Pench National Park, Bor Wildlife Sanctuary and Painganga National Park. Thus, tigers from these reserves generally live in the Tipeshwar Wildlife Forest.
Apart from the forest, Tipeshwar is surrounded by several waterfalls and beautiful reservoirs.

Some delicious home-cooked food can be found around. Both veg and non-veg meals are available. Dhabas are available near highways.
Accommodation facilities nearby & Hotel/ Hospital/Post Office/Police station
The sanctuary houses a small British-era rest house. A nature reading/study centre has also been started at the location. Tented cottages are available that are comfortable with air-conditioning for summer and heaters for the cold nights of January when temperatures can be a single digit.
Visiting Rule and Time, Best month to visit
The Park opens its gates for guests at 7.00 AM to 10.00 AM and 3.00 PM to 6.00 PM. Tipeshwar booking entry fees are available at Rs. 30 per person and for travelling it takes Rs. 150 per Gypsy or private car. It is compulsory to hire a tourist guide. They charge you Rs. 300 per safari.
The best time to visit Tipeshwar Forest is from October to February.
Note: Do not bother the animals especially in the daytime as most of the nighttime animals sleep throughout the daytime.
