Vengurla is a taluka of the Sindhudurg district in the south Konkan region of Maharashtra. The place is known for its clean and sandy beaches and hilly surroundings. It was one of the busiest ports and a trade centre during the reign of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
Vengurla is a coastal place located in South Konkan in between the hills of Dabhol and Mochemad. It has green-topped Sahyadri mountains on one side and the blue Arabian Sea on the other. It is located 38 KM to the southwest of Sindhudurg city, 170 KM away from Kolhapur and 477 KM away from Mumbai. The place is well accessible by road.
