The Vajreshwari hot Water springs at Bhiwandi tehsil of district Thane in Maharashtra State, India. Vajreshwari is known for its hot water springs and the temple of Goddess Vajreshwari. According to mythological stories, the hot water flowing through these springs is the blood of the demons slain by the goddess Vajreshwari. Hot water springs are the result of the emergence of geothermal (connected with the natural heat of rock deep in the ground) heated groundwater from the earth’s crust.
The hot springs stretch about 7 KM in the bed of the Tansa river. Mainly situated at Akoli, Vajreshwari, Ganeshpuri, and Satvalli. All these places are popular for their hot water springs. They are situated to the east of Virar and north of Thane.
