Mumbai Suburban

The Mumbai Suburban District's jurisdiction extends from Bandra to Dahisar, from Kurla to Mulund, and from Kurla to Trombay Creek. The Mumbai Suburban District is one of the country's most populous districts. According to the 2011 census, the district's current population is 9,332,481, making it India's sixth most populous district (out of 672) The Mithi River is the district's principal waterway.

About Mumbai Suburban
As a result of the split of Greater Mumbai into two revenue districts, Mumbai City and Mumbai Suburban, the district was declared an independent district on October 1, 1990. Mumbai Suburban was was a component of the Mumbai City District. One of the country's largest districts in terms of population. The population is currently 93.56 lakhs. It is Maharashtra's second smallest district in terms of area. It has a geographical area of 369 square kilometres. Bandra is home to the District Headquarters (E). It is part of the Konkan Division administratively. SDO Office Western Suburban and SDO Office Eastern Suburban are the two sub divisions of the Mumbai suburban district.

By Air :
The nearest domestic and International Airport is Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, Santacruz, Mumbai. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport is one of the major airports of India. This airport connects Mumbai with different corners of the globe like Mauritius, Kuala Lumpur, London, Hong Kong, Amsterdam, Abu Dhabi, Goa, Lucknow, Delhi, Jeddah, Singapore and many others. At a distance of 4 km from International airport is Santa Cruz Domestic Airport. The airport is functional round the clock. There are easy availability of taxis, autos and buses from both the airports.

Rail:
The nearest Railway stations are Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, Bandra Terminus, Mumbai Central and Lokmanya Tilak Terminus Railway Station,Kurla. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) and Bombay Central are two major railway stations that connect Mumbai with different parts of the country. Trains arriving from West, East and Central India rest at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus. Bombay Central Station has trains coming from North India usually. Local trains are yet another option for  travelling within the city.

By Road:
Mumbai is well connected through Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) and other state transport corporation buses.The Nearest Bus stand is Mumbai Central, Parel and Borivali. Mumbai is connected to different cities and towns of India with the help of National Highways. The city can be reached by National Highways number- 4, 17, 8, 9, 50 and 3. Interstate buses run across West India, like Pune, Nashik, Aurangabad, Gujarat, Mahabaleshwar, Goa, Panchgani and others. Travelers can choose from luxury or budget buses to commute to other cities to or from Mumbai. The city in itself too has brilliant connectivity. There are easy availability of autos, taxis and buses.
