Mahalakshmi Temple, Kolhapur
This temple is located in the ancient city of Karveer or today known as Kolhapur. The construction of the temple was started by the Rashtrakuta dynasty around the 9th century and the earliest record is that the temple was built by the Chalukya dynasty from 550 to 660 CE.
This temple is one of the largest temples in Kolhapur and is located in the heart of the old Karveer (Kolhapur) city. It is a two-story building made up of local black skeletons. This temple is said to be originally a Jain temple, which was later used by Hindus as a Hindu temple and many things were added.

Tulja Bhavani,Tuljapur
Tulja Bhavani Temple is a Hindu temple dedicated to the goddess Bhavani. It is located in Tuljapur in Osmanabad district of Maharashtra and is considered as one of the 51 Shakti Pithas. It is situated 45 km from Solapur. The temple was built in c. 12th century CE.

Renuka Devi,Mahurgad
Reṇukā/Renu is a Hindu goddess worshipped predominantly in the Indian state of Maharashtra."Renu" means "Atom/Mother of Universe" She is also worshipped in the South Indian states of Andhra Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Karanataka, Tamil Nadu, and Telangana.Renuka's temple at Mahur in Maharashtra is considered one of the shakti peethas. Renuka is also called as "Renu" which means "Atom/Mother of Universe". It is the avatar of Goddess Parvati.
Jyotirlinga
A Jyotirlinga or Jyotirlingam, is a devotional representation of the Hindu god Shiva. The word is a Sanskrit compound of jyotis 'radiance' and linga.

Grishneshwar Jyotirlinga Temple, sometimes referred to as the Ghrneshwar or Ghushmeshwar Temple, is one of the shrines dedicated to Lord Shiva that is referenced in the Shiva Purana. The word Ghrneshwara means "lord of compassion"

Trimbakeshwar Shiva JyotirlingaTemple is an ancient Hindu temple in the town of Trimbak, in the Trimbakeshwar tehsil in the Nashik District of Maharashtra, India, 28 km from the city of Nashik and 40 km from Nashik road.

Bhimashankar Temple is a Jyotirlinga shrine located 50 km Khed taluka (alias Rajgurunagar), near Pune, in Maharashtra, India. It is located 127 km from Shivajinagar (in Pune) in the Ghat region of the Sahyadri Mountains.

Aundha Nagnath Temple is an ancient Shiva temple, a Jyotirlinga, located at Aundha Nagnath in Hingoli district of Maharashtra, India. The Jyotirlinga is located below the ground level accessed by two deep steps. The Aundha Nagnath premises also house 12 small temples for the 12 Jyotirlingas.

संत गजानन महाराज शेगांव (अमरावती)

राष्ट्रसंत तुकड़ोजी महाराज
राष्ट्रसंत तुकड़ोजी महाराज का समाधि मंदिर अमरावती के मोजरी में स्थित है। तुकड़ोजी महाराज एक संत, स्वतंत्रता सेनानी और एक सामाजिक कार्यकर्ता थे जिन्होंने हमेशा मानव जाति की भलाई के लिए प्रयास किया। इसलिए उन्हें "राष्ट्रसंत" कहा जाता है जिसका शाब्दिक अर्थ है 'देश का संत'।

औंध्या नागनाथ (नांदेड़)

नांदेड़ गुरुद्वारा (नांदेड़)
शायद ही कोई ऐसा स्थान हो जो मानव जाति की सेवा में एक साथ बिताए हुए वर्षों से अधिक महत्वपूर्ण और यहां तक कि पवित्र भी हो, जहां एक महान दार्शनिक रहा हो और अपनी अंतिम सांस ली हो। यह नांदेड़ में सचखंड श्री हजूर अचलनगर साहिब के बारे में सच है जहां 11 सिख गुरुओं में से दसवें गुरु गोबिंद सिंहजी ने अपनी अंतिम मण्डली आयोजित की थी।

घृष्णेश्वर (औरंगाबाद)
प्रत्येक पवित्र हिंदू या शैव भक्त के लिए, घृष्णेश्वर द्वादश ज्योतिर्लिंग यात्रा के रूप में जाना जाने वाला अंतिम पड़ाव है। यहीं पर आपको 12वां 'ज्योतिर्लिंग' मिलेगा। औरंगाबाद जिले के दौलताबाद से 11 किलोमीटर दूर वेरुल (एलोरा) के पास स्थित घृष्णेश्वर भी उन पर्यटकों का पसंदीदा स्थान है जो अजंता और एलोरा की गुफाओं को देखने आते हैं। यदि आध्यात्मिक सांत्वना पाना आपका लक्ष्य है, तो घृष्णेश्वर वह और भी बहुत कुछ प्रदान करता है।

Paithan (Aurangabad)
A familiar name especially among women, Paithan, located 56 kilometers south of Aurangabad, has shot into global prominence for its beautiful silk sarees which sport intricately embroidered gold or silver borders. That apart, it is known for being the birthplace of Sri Nimbarka, the founder of the Nimbarka Sampradaya tradition of Vaishnavism. The city was also the home of the great Maharashtrian saint Eknath Maharaj, whose ‘samadhi’ can be found there.

Haji Ali Dargah
A tomb on an island in the middle of the Arabian Sea! Doesn’t that immediately sound enticing enough? But there is more to the Haji Ali Dargah in Mumbai than just its location. Such is the reverence that this Muslim saint commands that his final resting place draws the faithful from all communities who come here with the firm hope that their prayers will be answered. With a mosque located adjacent to the tomb complex, the edifice is also a brilliant specimen of the Indo-Islamic style of architecture.

Vajreshwari (Mumbai)
Vajreshwari, the town named after the temple dedicated to goddess Vajreshwari Devi is known for its curative hot water springs emerging from the surrounding volcanic mountains. Vajreshwari Devi is an incarnation of goddess paravati. The ancient temple was supposed to have been built with the belief of the slaying of demon Kalikuli by the goddess.

Mount Merry Church
While Bandra in Mumbai is one of the elitist areas that is also home to some of the biggest retailer brands and fine dining restaurants, it is where the devotees of Virgin Mary congregate to pray and seek blessings at the Basilica of Our Lady of the Mount, more commonly known as Mount Mary Church. The most looked forward to event here is the feast of the Blessed Virgin Mary celebrated on the first Sunday after September 8.

Siddhivinayak Temple (Mumbai)
With the firm belief that nothing new should ever be embarked upon without invoking the blessings of Lord Ganesh, the Shree Siddhivinayak Ganapati Temple at Prabhadevi is understandably the most popular of places of worship in Mumbai. It was but a humble consecration by Mrs. Deubai Patil in early 19th century that is supposed to have started attracting hordes of worshippers soon after India’s independence to ‘Siddhivinayak’, as it is popularly known.

Titwala (Mumbai)
For all those who believe in the power of Lord Ganesh, regular visits to the Siddhivinayaka Mahaganapati Temple at Titwala is always high on the ‘faith’ list. The place is steeped in ancient legend and the temple is also frequented by those who believe that separated married couples can be united and the marriages of desired people can be arranged easily if the Ganesha image installed in the temple is worshipped with devotion.

Ganapatipule Temple (Ratnagiri)
Serene, sedate and unspoiled – these are the words often used to describe Ganapatipule, a place that not only beckons the faithful to seek the blessings of Lord Ganesh but also provides for a perfect holiday because of its beach with an almost endless stretch of silver sand and the sparkling blue waters of the ocean. In addition to that, the town itself has lots to offer by way of its typical Konkani culture and cuisine.

Kunkeshwar (Sindhudurg)
Just stand facing the sea from atop a small hillock; witness the golden ball submerging in the ocean; and enjoy the breeze wafting in from the ocean. And behind you will be the ancient temple of Shiva. To experience this supreme moment of being in absolute communion with nature and the forces that rule the universe, go to Kunakeshwar. Assuredly, there is no other place that will fill you with this feeling of tranquility and peace.

Ashtavinayak Varad Vinayak Temple
Ashtavinayak Varad Vinayak temple is one of the eight pilgrimage temples of Ganapati / Ganesha from Maharashtra. These temples surround themselves with several mythological stories associated with the Lord Ganesha.

Bharadidevi Temple
Bharadidevi Temple, known as Anganewadi Temple too is famous for the Anganewadi Jatra(Fair) which is celebrated every year.

Ambernath
Ambernath is a suburban city in Mumbai Metropolitan Region. The city got its name after Ancient Ambreshwar Shiv Mandir.

Shri Ballaleshwar Ashtavinayak
'Shri Ballaleshwar Ashtavinayak Temple' is in Raigad, Maharashtra. It is considered a holy place for devotees of Lord Ganesh. Being one of the eight important forms of Lord Ganesh, and a unique feature that the temple holds, it is a must place to visit.

Jivdani Temple
Jivdani Temple is at the top of the hill in Virar. It is famous throughout the country for its only temple of goddess Jivdani.

Chaityabhoomi
'Chaityabhoomi' is situated in Mumbai is the cremation ground of Dr Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar, the renowned and respected Babasaheb Ambedkar. The presence of Lord Buddha along with Dr Ambedkar shows a unique blend of people's devotion and adherence.

Swami Swarupanand Samadhi Mandir
Swami Swarupanand Samadhi Mandir is a religious temple on the bank of River Gautami. It houses the samadhi (self-immolation) of spiritual Guru Swarupanand Swami.

Parshuram Temple
Parshuram Temple or as locals call it Shree KshetraParshuram, this ancient Hindu temple is located in the Parshuram village near the town of Chiplun in Konkan region.

Ramtek (Nagpur)
Ramtek is a fine confluence of devotion, literature and history. Shri Ram, Seeta maai and Laxman who were living in self-imposed exile in the forest, had halted at Ramtek for a while for rest. Ramtek has an air of devotion. In 'Meghadoota', the great Sanskrit poet Kalidasa's play, the protagonist of the play – the Angel or the Yaksha was living a lonely life away from his dear wife here.

Saibaba Shirdi
f ever you have wanted to witness what deep faith is all about, visit Shirdi, the home of Sai Baba’s ‘samadhi’ that has his followers coming here in multitudes to seek his blessings and in hope of miracles that can change their lives. Just 83 kilometers from the city of Ahmednagar, Shirdi is also amazing for the fact that it draws people from all communities and castes, with each visitor firmly believing that his or her requests will be granted by the saint.

Siddhatek (Ashtavinayak) (Ahmednagar)
One of the ‘ashtavinayaka’ (8 Ganeshas) temples in Maharashtra, the Siddhi Vinayak Mandir of Siddhatek is the only one in the Ahmednagar district. Located on the northern bank of the river Bhima in the Karjat taluka, it is close to the railway station of Daund and is accessible from the small village of Shirapur in Pune district, on the southern bank of the river, from where it can be reached by boat or a newly constructed bridge.

Trimbakeshwar (Nashik)
One of the holiest places that occupy a special position in the religious beliefs of every Hindu is Trimbakeshwar. One reason is that it is among the 12 ‘jyotirlingas’ dedicated to Lord Shiva. Located in the Trimbakeshwar taluka of Nashik district where the river Godavari originates at the adjacent hill of Brahmagiri, the place has both historical and mythological significance because of the presence of several caves which have had association with the ‘Nath’ sect. A circumambulation of this hill in the Hindu calendar month of Shravan is treated as an extremely pious act. The ‘Kumbh Mela’ which is the largest mass Hindu pilgrimage, is held here every twelve years and the next one will take place in July 2015.

Saptashrungi
The 'Saptashrungi Temple' situated at Vani in Nashik district of Maharashtra is a temple dedicated to Goddess Saptashrungi. Being a unique Shaktipeeth and a huge rock-cut temple, it is a site worth a visit.

Bhagwangad
The temple was located inside a fort called Dhaumyagada which was restored by Bhagwan Baba. Bhagwangad is a popular place of pilgrimage for Vanjaris. Bhagwan Baba was a prominent saint of the Vanjari community and Kirtankar. He was born in a farmers family in Sawargaon. Bhagwan baba's real name was Abaji.

Gondeshwar
The 'Gondeshwar Temple' is in Sinnar dating back to the 11th-12th century CE, gives us a magnificent view of the artistic achievements of the Yadava Period. It is one of the best surviving examples of the dry masonry style of architecture.

Ranjangaon (Ashtavinayak)(Pune)
Earlier known as Manipur, Ranjangaon near Pune is believed to have been created by none other than Lord Shiva. This was after Shiva prayed to Ganesha to make him victorious in a battle with the demon Tripurasur. It is said that this incident took place on the day of Tripuri Pournima, following which Shiva set up Ganesha’s idol in the form of ‘Mahaganapati’. The temple here is now known by that name. It is one of the ‘ashtavinayakas’ (8 Ganeshas) of Maharashtra.

Akkalkot (Akkalkot)
A city and a municipal council in Solapur district, Akkalkot is situated 40 kilometers southeast of Solapur and very close to the border between Maharashtra and Karnataka. The city is known for being home to Shri Swami Samarth Maharaj, a 19th century saint who is believed by his devotees to be an incarnation of God Dattatreya. During the British Raj, Akkalkot was a princely state ruled by the royal Bhonsale dynasty.

Lenyadri (Ashtavinayak) (Pune)
Among the ‘ashtavinayakas’ (8 Ganeshas) of Maharashtra, references of Lenyadri can be found in the ‘Ganesh Purana’ as a Jeernapur or Lekhanparvat. These are Buddhists caves carved out in the hills near Junnar. In one of these caves is an image Girijatmaj Ganesh which is very unique among all the ashtavinayakas since it has been carved out of the cave wall and can be seen from the rear only

Theur (ashtavinayak) (Pune)
One of the ‘ashtavinyaka’ (8 Ganeshas) temples of Maharashtra, the Chintamani Mandir of Theur is located 25 kilometers from Pune and is one of the larger and more famous of the eight revered shrines of Ganesha. Surrounded by the Mula river on three sides, it is just adjacent to the Pune-Solapur national highway.

Bhimashankar Temple (Pune)
A pristine natural environment with hills, waterfalls and forests; a wild life sanctuary and an ancient temple! Bhimashankar offers the ideal setting to find spirituality. It is also the perfect place for adventure lovers with a plethora of treks. Moreover this is where you can find the shekru the giant flying squirrel which is also the state animal of Maharashtra.

Vighnahar
Most places have interesting legends associated with them. One such is Ozar, located on the banks of river Kukadi in Junnar taluka of Pune district. An ‘ashtavinayaka’ (8 Ganeshas), it is said that Lord Ganesh had made Ozar his permanent abode after defeating a demon called Vighnasur. When the demon asked to be forgiven for his deeds, Ganesha became pleased and stayed at Ozar, taking on the name of the demon.

Jyotiba (Kolhapur)
If ever you go to Kolhapur, the one place that you must include in your travel itinerary is Jyotiba, the holy shrine of Lord Kedarnath up in the hills near the bustling city with its true Maratha flavour. It is not for nothing that Jyotiba is called the ‘The King of the Deccan’. Throughout the year the deity draws devotees in huge numbers. Also, it is known for being the family deity of the Scindias of Gwalior.

Mahalakshmi (Kolhapur)
Situated in Kolhapur, or the ancient city of Karaveer, the Mahalakshmi temple is among the major pilgrimages of the four goddesses worshipped by Hindus and figures prominently among the most visited places of pilgrimage in India.

Pandharpur
Mere words cannot suffice to describe the intense spirituality that Pandharpur is associated with. Revered for its temple dedicated to Lord Vitthal, it is one of the most sacred towns in Maharashtra and is also the seat of the Warkari sect which has given the state a unique cultural and social dimension. Located in Solapur district, it has been named after a merchant who achieved self-realisation here.

Kopeshwara Temple
Kopeshwara Temple located near the Khidrapur village is considered as one of the masterpieces of temple architecture in Western India. The temple is built using rocks, and has some of the best carved pillars, panels and ceiling that makes it outstanding.

Alandi
Alandi is near Pune city. It is a Samadhi temple of saint Shri. Dnyaneshwara Maharaj. He lived in the 13th century. The temple at Alandi is on the bank of the Indrayani River.

Siddheshwar
Siddheshwar temple is at the heart of the city of Solapur. It is a well-fortified temple on an island in a lake.

Dehu
Dehu is a famous religious place associated with the medieval Sant Tukaram who was a devotee of Vithoba and preached Bhakti. He was contemporary to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.

Audumbar Datta
Audumbar Datta Temple is on the banks of the Krishna River. It is built in honour of Narsimha Saraswati, a great saint and supposedly the second incarnation of Lord Dattatraya.

Moreshwar( Mayureshwar)
The temple of Moreshwar/ Mayureshwar is one of the temples among Ashtavinayak Temples. It is in Morgaon village, near Pune.

Shreemant Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati
Shreemant Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati is the pride and the honour to the city of Pune. People from every part of India and the world come here to pray to Lord Ganesha every year.

Shree Balaji Mandir
Shree Balaji Mandir Pune is at Ketkawale, near Narayanpur. It is about 45 kilometres away from Pune. The road passes through green fields, gurgling streams and many small cascading waterfalls as you approach the temple. So, even the route to the temple is a memory worth savouring.
