Hatti Barav (Elephant Step well) was a part of water supply system made during Nizamshahi dynasty. Water was lifted with the help of elephants and supplied to the Farah Baksh palace through underground earthen pipeline. This stepwell has entrances from 3 sides and was constructed by Salabat Khan (II) during the period 1576-83. This stepwell is situated on Ahmednagar-Jamkhed road, 4 kms away from Ahmednagar city.
