The district is bordered on the northwest by Mumbai Harbour, on the north by Thane District, on the east by Pune District,on the south by Ratnagiri District, and on the west by the Arabian Sea. It forms a single landform with the vast natural harbour of Pen-Mandwa, which is immediately south of Mumbai port.The district's northern portion is part of Navi Mumbai, a planned metropolis with its own port, the Jawaharlal Nehru Port. About Raigad Raigad is one of the districts in Maharashtra's Konkan Division, and it is bordered on the west by the Arabian Sea. The Sahyadri mountain range encompasses the majority of the District's mountainous areas. It was renamed Raigad District after it was renamed Kolaba.
