Are-ware is on the western coast of India in the district of Ratnagiri in Maharashtra. It is situated 12 KM away from Ganpatipule. These twin beaches are blessed with awesome views of the Arabian sea on one side and a hill on the other with coconut and suru (casuarina) trees.

History :
These are from the lesser-known beaches in Konkan. It is one of the calmest and cleanest places in Ratnagiri district. Since these are not commercialised yet, one can find clean water as well as white sand on this beach. These twin beaches are 4 to 6 KM long. The beaches are surrounded by dense plantations.
Geography :
Are-ware being a coastal place in the Konkan region of Maharashtra has Sahyadri mountains on one side and the Arabian Sea on the other. These twin beaches are located on either side of a hill 14 KM to the north of Ratnagiri city, 166 KM away from Kolhapur and 332 KM away from Mumbai.
Weather/Climate :
The prominent weather in the region is rainfall, the Konkan belt experiences High Rainfall (ranges around 2500 mm to 4500 mm), and the climate remains Humid and warm. The temperature reaches up to 30 degrees Celsius during this season.
Summers are hot and humid, and the temperature touches 40 degrees Celsius.
Winters are comparatively milder climate (around 28 degrees Celsius), and the weather remains Cool and Dry
Things to do :
Are-ware has a long and clean coastline of about 4-6 KM. The beach is clean and it has white sand that attracts tourists from all over Maharashtra.
It is the most fitting place to relax and enjoy the purity of nature along with solitude and peace.
Tourists can enjoy the gorgeous view of the sunset from the adjacent hill near Are-ware beach. Since this place is developing as a tourist destination, it does not have any other activities, unlike other beach destinations.

Ganpatipule: It is situated 10 KM to the north of Are-ware. This place is famous for its Ganpati temple as well as its beautiful beach.
Jaigad: Jaigad fort was built in the 16th century, and it is 30 KM to the north of Are-ware near Shastri creek. It also houses a beautiful lighthouse.
Malgund: Birthplace of famous Marathi poet ‘Keshavsut’, it is 13 KM away from Are-ware.
Pawas: The place is famous for the ashram of spiritual leader Swami Swaroopanand, located 30 KM away from Are-ware.

Visiting Rule and Time, Best month to visit :
The place is accessible throughout the year. The best time to visit is from October to March since the plentiful rainfall lasts from June to October, and the summers are hot and humid. Tourists should check the timings of high as well as low tides before entering into the sea. High tides during the monsoon season could be dangerous hence should be avoided.
