Bordi is a coastal town located in Dahanu Taluka on the western coast of India in the Palghar district of Maharashtra. The place is known for its farms and domestic surroundings, and it has many caves and temples. A popular weekend getaway for tourists from Mumbai.

History :
It is a place of religious importance for the Parsi or Zoroastrians. Hence it is popular amongst the Parsi community. It also has a magnificent fire temple of the Zoroastrians. It is believed that this fire has been kept alive for almost a thousand years. The existence of Iranian and Persian culture further makes this place more exotic.
Geography :
Bordi is a coastal place located in the Konkan region of Maharashtra in between the Vahindra river and Gholvad creek on the Arabian sea. It is 159 KM to the north of Mumbai and 38.7 KM to the south of Daman.
Weather/Climate :
The prominent weather in the region is rainfall, the Konkan belt experiences High Rainfall (ranges around 2500 mm to 4500 mm), and the climate remains Humid and warm. The temperature reaches up to 30 degrees Celsius during this season.
Summers are hot and humid, and the temperature touches 40 degrees Celsius.
Winters are comparatively milder climate (around 28 degrees Celsius), and the weather remains Cool and Dry

The calmness of the beach adds to its beauty. The walk along the golden sand during sunsets gives a magnificent experience to the visitors. One can sunbathe and admire the beauty of the beach by sitting idly on the beach.

One can plan to visit the following tourist places along with Bordi
Bahrot Caves: Located at a distance of 26.5 KM to the east of Bordi. These Caves perpetuate the bravery of the soldiers who sacrificed their lives for Iran Shah Atash Behram. The caves are delightful and appealing.
Dahanu beach: Located 15.6 KM to the south of Bordi, Dahanu is not only popular for its beach but for Mahalaxmi temple also.
Dapchari Dam: Located 36 KM away from Bordi, the dam is well known for its tranquil surroundings. It is home to a lot of greenery, making it a perfect spot to spend time in the lap of nature away from the chaos of life.
Kelwa beach: The beach is situated at a distance of 69.6 KM from Bordi. The beautiful beach has a length of almost 8KM. You will be surrounded by suru (casuarina) trees as you take a walk along the beach and on the other hand, there is a vast blue Arabian sea. There are many gorgeous resorts near the beach.
Manor: Situated 65.6 KM southeast of Bordi beach. The place is famous for its beautiful resorts and its water parks.
Daman: Daman is a huge draw for tourists because it is packed with attractions including stunning scenic landscapes, and a depth of history. Formerly a Portuguese colony, this city in the Union Territory of Daman & Diu has some of the loveliest beaches in the Arabian Sea.
Special food speciality and hotel :
Being on the coastal part of Maharashtra, seafood and Parsi food is the speciality here. However, it is one of the most visited tourist destinations and is connected to Mumbai, the restaurants here serve a variety of cuisine.

Bordi is accessible by road and rail. It is on the NH 48, Dahanu-Jawhar highway. It is situated 159 KM away from Mumbai, one can hire cars to reach this place.
