Dehu is a famous religious place associated with the medieval Sant Tukaram who was a devotee of
Vithoba and preached Bhakti. He was contemporary to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.

History
Saint Tukaram lived in the 17th century at Dehu near Pune. He was a preacher and spiritual master in Bhakti tradition in Maharashtra. He was a strauch devotee of lord Vithoba of Pandharpur. Saint Tukaram is a renowned poet in Marathi and is known for his devotional compositions known as ‘Abhanga-s’ in Marathi.
Though grown as a major city, it was a village in the 17th century on the bank of river Indrayani. Saint Tukaram spent his entire life in this village and breadth last in one of the caves near this village.
Narayanbaba, the son of Saint Tukaram built a small temple in 1723. A modern structure with a massive building that houses a big statue of Saint Tukaram, is a recent development. The temple has 4000 abhangas created by Saint Tukaram carved on the walls through which the temple got its name as Gatha Mandir. There are numerous places shown associated with the saint Tukaram. There are numerous myths and legends associated with him.
Geography
Dehu is around 28.2KM from Pune. It is located on the banks of River Indrayani.
Weather/Climate
The region has a hot-semi arid climate year-round with an average temperature ranging from 19-33 degrees Celsius.
April and May are the hottest months in the region when the temperature reaches up to 42 degrees Celsius.
Winters are extreme, and the temperature can go as low as 10 degrees Celsius at night, but the average daytime temperature is around 26 degrees Celsius.
The annual rainfall in the region is around 763 mm.
Things to do
Tourists can visit places such as Upvan Lake, a popular recreational spot. Beside TalaoPali, KopineshwarMandir is an old, domed Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. One can pay a visit to Sanjay Gandhi National Park and Flamingo Sanctuary. As it is Informally known as the city of lakes, one can visit many beautiful lakes in and around the city.

Visiting Rule and Time, Best month to visit
Best time to visit:- We can visit any month but the best time to visit this place is during monsoon and winter season.
Timings:-The worshiping timings are from 6.30 A.M to 10:30 A.M in the morning and then from 5:30 P.M to 8:30 P.M in the evening. For Saturdays, pilgrims can enjoy their darshan at Sant Tukaram Temple up till 9:00 P.M.
