Sant Gajanan Maharaj Temple Shegoan

Gajanan Maharaj temple of Shegaon is in Shegaon in Buldhana district.  Temple is Samadhi of the famous and one of the most worshipped saints Gajanan Maharaj.

History    
Temple at Shegaon is Samadhi of legendary saint Gajanan Maharaj. Saint Gajanan Maharaj blessed many devotees. He inspired thousands of people with his spiritual knowledge. It says that the temple has the holy existence of Saint Gajanan Maharaj. Legend says Gajanan Maharaj himself suggested the location of the temple in 1908. The temple was built with beautiful marble stones. Along with the samadhi temple, there are temples of other gods and goddesses like Ram, Goddess Sita etc. The Sanctum of the temple has the holy Paduka. Saint Gajanan Maharaj used to wear those for everyday use. Temple celebrates a festival called Palkhi Sohala. The hall of the temple is carved beautifully with different scenarios of Saint Gajanan Maharaj's life.

The Shegaon temple is in the city. Temple has Anand Sagar near it.

The region is mostly dry throughout the year, and Summers are extreme. The temperatures in summers are around  30-40 degrees Celsius.
Winters here came to be as low as 10 degrees Celsius.
The average annual rainfall in this region is around 1064.1 mm.

Things to do    
One of the most famous places in Shegaon city is Anand Sagar Lake. The mini toy train is a small train from the temple to Lake that is famous among tourists. One can even enjoy things like the lotus pond, Ganesha, Shiv and Navagraha temple while riding the mini-train.

By Bus - Shegaon and Aurangabad city are connected by bus service. (225 KM)

The kachori snack is famous among locals and even tourists. Other than that many restaurants serve various Maharashtrian cuisines.
