Filmcity located in Goregaon of Mumbai is a large studio complex. It has forty two outdoor shooting locations and 16 studios of various sizes, where numerous Hindi movies and commercial shows are shot. The first silent film was made in 1911, which was the beginning of Indian cinema. Since then, the Mumbai Film industry has evolved and has been continuously expanding and growing with time. It is named after Dadasaheb Phalke, one of the legendary filmmakers of India. Today, the Film Industry of India, popularly known as Bollywood, is recognized the world over and 2nd most famous film industry after Hollywood and the cine stars have a lot of followers from worldwide. Film City has the latest technology available in the field of cinema. Working in Filmcity is a dream for many people, who come here to be a part of Bollywood. The prominent weather in this region is rainfall, the Konkan belt experiences High Rainfall (ranges around 2500 mm to 4500 mm), and the climate remains Humid and warm. The temperature reaches up to 30 degrees Celsius during this season. Summers are hot and humid, and the temperature touches 40 degrees Celsius. Winters here are comparatively milder climate (around 28 degrees Celsius), and the weather remains Cool and Dry

There are various tour batches to visit Film City. The 1st batch starts at 11:00 A.M. and the last batch at 4-4:30 P.M.
There is an entry fee charge of RS.499/- per head is the charge for all Indian citizens. Some foreigners get extra permissions as not allowed and tentative changes are Rs.3250/-
